Through What Lens Do You See?

I love looking at beautiful photographs.  How is it that one person takes a picture and it's of the water, the sun, the sky and that's what it looks like.  Another person, same camera, takes a completely different picture and the water seems to be stirred with a passion, where the hues of the sky blend together to create a firey magic with the sun.  The waves lick the edge of the skyline, to give it a moment of coolness it needs.

What is the difference?  Is it because the equipment is better?  No, same equipment, but different photographer with a different way to manipulate and to see things.  One has a better grasp of the camera on how to use it's special affects to his advantage, while the other does not.  One uses filters.  The other does not.  One changes the exposure, the other has a wrong type of exposure.  Same camera.  Different operators with different skills & techniques.

As I gaze at dozens of photographs of some of my favorite photographers on Flickr, I feel emotions welling up in me with their subjects they shoot, or the landscape.  How do they do that?  Are they born with it?  In most cases, it takes time, talent, money, lots of photos.  Wow!

How do we see life?  We are given this one life.  Many of us are given the same equipment - arms, legs, torso, hands, feet, head, brain -- but how do we use these?  What kind of filters do we have on that cause us to see things differently?  to respond differently?

Donald Trump has filed for bankruptcy at least twice, yet, he's still a very wealthy man at the end of all of it as he's not afraid to lose it all, because he knows in a short amount of time, he'll be rich again.  He falls down.  He gets back up.

But, others, when they fail, they stay down permanently.

If we have wrong filters, then changing these filters would serve us much better.  That's why there is the Bible to be a guide of what is Truth and what is a lie.  When we discover lies, when they are exposed, this helps us be able to tune in better, to focus more on getting back into alignment with Truth.  The Truth will set you free indeed.
